Recycling stations

In Sweden we have recycling stations to put stuffs like aliminum cans,glass bottles, paper,cardboard,plastic,electronics batteries and stuffs like that. We have a really big one in Luleå on a place called kronan. It's a huge place where you can put all kinds of thing that you need to throw away. But we also have small stations like the one on kronan in nearly every city part and in some of them even more. Made by Simon,Jens and David

Waste warm water heating

In Sweden we have a system for heating our houses called Waste warm water heating. The simple way to describe this is: The energy that is left after being used in our factories and industries are being lead out in our city to keep our houses warm.

Low-energy light bulbs

In Luleå, and the rest of Sweden, we use low-energy lightbulbs. We also use lightbulbs called LED. They are also a better option for the enviroment the ordinary lightbulbs.

We take the spare energy from our big industries and use it to warm our homes. We also burn the garbage and take the energy from that.

Of course this is better than nothing, but this is just a start. We have to improve our use of energy and do everything we can to make this an better enviroment.

Kronan recycling center

Kronan is a recycling center located in Luleå.
People leave things as scrap metal, bulky waste, combustible waste, construction, and demolition waste, light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, electronics and yard waste, refrigerators and freezers. Some of the items are then sold for cheap prices while the rest are scrapped and made into new gadgets.
It's very environmentally friendly and it's a great benefit to the city of Luleå.

Compost

Compost is a way to recycle, in Sweden we're using it a lot in our homes. A compost is a sort of container were you put all of your garbage that can decompose and become soil. Food waste and garden waste are examples of things that can decompose into soil, and they should therefore be placed in the "compost-container". In the compost, the garden- and food waste decomposes in a natural way by bacterias into soil.

This is a very good way to recycle food waste or garden waste, when the whole "process" is done, all you got is decomposed soil.

Second hand

When you hear the word second hand most people think of clothes. Second hand clothes are very environment friendly, because when you buy them you are using old things and clothes and then companies don´t have to make brand new clothes all the time.

It's also a bit fun with second hand beacuse it gives you the opportunity to have unique clothes that no one is wearing except you.

At second hand shops you can also buy books, furnitures and jewelerys so there´s stuff for everyone.

So if you for example have clothes in your wardrobe that you aren't wearing anymore you can give them away to the nearest second hand shop in your town!

How we save water in Sweden

We have a lot of water here in Sweden but we still need to save it. Because it takes very much energy. And this is a few things we do to save some water:

• we wash and counters with full loads


• don't let the tap run while we're brushing your teeth or shave us


• we shower a very short time


• when we wash the car, we wash it in a car wash

My name is Leonard Joakim Sjunesson, but you can call me Leo. I like to basketball like everyone else, thats the big reason why i moved to this cold part of Sweden. (Skåne4Life) I used to live in Skåne in southern part of Sweden. What else do i like to do?? hm.... I like to sleep in school when im bored, but im still very smart :P. I also like to play games on my computer cause im a real "nerd" (Nerd4Life). I like to listen to music and when i get bored of my computer i kind of have to hang out with my friends. I hope i will become really good at basketball because thats my dream (Dreams4Life). Im always happy :D the picture just shows my "serious face". eXtremly cool outfit

Hello,this is how I dress to school sometimes. But there is a problem. Sten Lindmark is not to happy about this outfit because it is fur from his neighbors, the reindeers. That is why I have bandage round my head so I am well prepared for any angry attack from Sten.

Hello Italians!

My name is Filip Mosesson, I'm 16 years old and I live in this town called Luleå just like everybody else in my class. I don't really know what to write, but I play basketball at Luleå basketball academy, so basketball is a huge part of my life. Besides basketball I like to just hang out with my friends, go catch a movie or just chill out.

Hey, my name is Jenny and I'm sixteen years old. My biggest interests are both playing and listening to music, exercising and I also like to be with my friends of course. The winter sport I really like is downhill-skiing because here we've got lots of snow. I'm teaching small children to ski and that's fun because they are so cute and interested! In the summer I prefer to play football. I live with my mother, my father and I've also got a brother who’s only one year younger than me. Hi, my name is Marcus Teodor Carl Flink. Also called as Flinken, Flinkey-boii, Mackan, Marcusito, Flirre and Caveman. I love playing basketball and thats the reason why I moved 1509 kilometers from the warm Skåne to the cold Norrland.
My favourite food dish is spaghetti and meatballs and it´s almost the only thing I eat in my tiny home.
I have a brother who also lives as my neighbor here in Luleå. Together with him and all the other people from my home-territory of Skåne we run a very cool business, some call us Skåne-Maffian. But all we do is help each other with our studies and study hard so we get successful in school...

My name is Sten Lindmark and i'm 16 y.o. like everybody else in my class... I'm living in Luleå at the moment.
I have nothing interesting to write about because everyone has already written the stuff about basket acadamies and practising and working out and so on... One thing I can add is that I come from the land of reindeers, Lappland, or Laponia if u like. My little village is called Arvidsjaur. The habitants of Arvidsjaur is called "Lappar" or "Samer". It lives around six-thousand people and twohundred-twentythousand reindeers there. I'ts a very cold, but nice place.

Well, I hope you're enjoying the warmth in Italy right now, otherwise, I'm not going to be very happy.
